One of our days in Cameron Highland was spent with a driver. We bumped into a bus driver and asked him if he would let us jump on his tour but said we couldn't purchase a tour directly through him. So he suggested a friend of his who happens to be a taxi driver. The taxi driver came to pick us up and showed us around for the entire day which was nice!
Here our driver took a picture of us among the tea trees at a tea plantation.
I was surprised to find poinsettia plants everywhere around Cameron Highlands! Apparently they like the mountain environment just as much as the tea trees do.
Keeping ourselves going as we hiked through tea plantations involved a little play time.
If I hadn't seen this view with my own eyes I wouldn't have believed it was real! The mountains of tea trees were phenomenal. Workers have to walk and push a machine along every one of these rows in order to trim the tea leaves off! It seems like an impossible task!
Our driver and guide for the day was originally from India.
He had a wealth of info about the Cameron Highlands!
Hiking through the mountainside of tea trees!
Another stop on our tour was an agro-technology garden. Here the local university studies the best way to grow everything from flowers to food.
Oliver's favorite thing about the garden was their ride on toys. He had the cheesiest grin when we allowed him to ride this ride. Although I missed capturing that on the camera!
This was not a pot plant...in the way you are thinking...but Aaron thought it would be funny to pretend it was. This just meant that the plants were growing in pots!
Universal sign...we knew not to eat these plants!
Oliver's favorite....trains! These little trains were completely made of wood.
Would be a cute creation for a backyard toy.
There were also bunnies at the garden...the boys had fun feeding them grass.
Taking a break from our hiking around!
And a little drink!
Next stop was this museum that was really a hole in the wall kind of place. We would have never found it on our own. Mostly it was a treasure trove of historical items. Such as drinks, food, games and pop culture from around the world.
Oliver wanted to bring this abacus back home with us. I wanted to bring it back home too!
Math and tea...Carson's favorites!
Carson loved drinking Milo in Malaysia!
A traditional representation of a village hut. I guess if you hike into the mountains you can still find people who live traditionally.
Our trip wouldn't be complete without a cheesy sign!
A view from our homestay the last morning....it was the most beautiful view I have ever seen.
On our last day in Cameron Highlands, we had to go to 'town' in order to catch our next bus.
After hiking around the town for a while, we stopped by a hotel to grab some breakfast and rest our feet. While there we found this 'Prayer For Tourists' sign which was completely true!
