Today we went to Family Day at the Atlanta Opera. It was lots of fun with workshops on costuming and combat staging. There was also face painting, coloring, and an Instrument Petting Zoo. Carson was really taken with the combat staging where we learned to sword fight and do hand to hand combat without even touching your opponent! Now if only I can teach Carson this concept of 'play' fighting. Carson was able to try a trumpet which we learned he needs more hot air before he can learn to play and he also tried a violin which was more to his liking. Carson tried on many hats, masks, and gloves in the costuming shop. After getting a 'frog prince' painted on his face it was time to go watch an Opera The Ugly Duckling. All the characters were very entertaining and I hope this is only the start of Carson's love for Theater. :) As we were leaving the Chick-Fil-A Cow was outside greeting guests. Carson loves the Cows so he had to stop and say hi which lead to him wanting to go to Chick-Fil-A after we left. Definitely doesn't qualify for our restricted diet but that's ok. We went to Chick-Fil-A where to our surprise were having a Farm Day event. So Carson was able to play a little plinko game, bean bag toss, and spin the wheel where he won a couple prizes including a free brownie! Yummy! And I have coupons from their annual calendar so our lunch was totally free! I think I need to eat some salad greens or something though because all those carbs and that high fructose syrup is sitting in my belly turning into fat! But Carson had fun and so did I so all is well!
