Today in lab we got to look at our own DNA. It was a really neat process to collect our own cheek cells, then break them open, and replicate them in order to perform electrophoresis to analyze whether we carry some ancient virus at a specific sequence. I was able to see that I do not carry this ancient virus at least on this specific set of DNA.
