July 30th

Friends from North Carolina came up to visit today! This is Carson's friend from Atlanta and although the boys haven't seen one another for a year they picked up as if they last saw each other yesterday.

July 29th

This is my last week of summer class! I have lecture Monday and Wednesday then my final on Thursday! Not sure what I am going to do with no classes to study for!

July 28th

This morning we went out blueberry picking again. We ate up our last batch in a matter of days so we had to restock. Later Aaron put together the baby's crib. We put it up early because we have friends visiting us for a week that have an infant so they plan to test it for us. I even managed some final study time for my class and we watched some Olympics too!

July 27th

Had a pizza party with friends to watch the opening ceremonies for the Summer Olympics! Go Team USA!

July 26th

Carson is starting a new series of books today. I surprised him with The Diary of a Wimpy Kid which he has wanted to read for a long time!

July 25th

Tonight Carson had baseball. They had some practice drills then played a little game. Amazingly after everything Carson wanted to stay and play at the park with his friends.

July 24th

My midwife gave me a birth plan today-the time is getting close!

July 23rd

To cool off today we went to the pool. Carson was a little fish swimming laps around the perimeter.

July 22nd

This morning we made use of our fresh picked blueberries from yesterday by making blueberry pancakes. Then this afternoon we made homemade blueberry frozen yogurt! Yum!

July 21st

Today was a busy day! We went and picked blueberries at a local farm (picked up some peaches as well!). Later in the day we went to a local pond and swam with friends. In the picture you can see Carson swimming with some fish!

July 20th

T-minus 8 weeks from today until my due date!

July 19th

Today was day 2 of having to sit through only lecture in class so to stay awake I got a coffee and my favorite blueberry muffin. The caffeine lasted me all day! I took Carson swimming after his camp (yes I swam too) and even played tennis. With only 8 weeks and 1 day to go of this pregnancy however I am paying tonight for all of my activity. Hopefully I will sleep well tonight.

July 18th

Carson had baseball practice tonight and it decided to pour rain. The kids loved it but the parents didn't think it was as fun. I was one of the only ones prepared with my trusty umbrella so I didn't mind the rain at all!

July 17th

Today after camp we went to the pool to cool off. Carson played around on the diving boards and even had the courage to jump off the high dive. He was the only 6 year old braving the diving boards so all of the teenagers were super impressed. Poor guy did manage one belly flop off the low diving board (thankfully!!) so he had some nice red marks and welts on this chest. The photo was about 30 minutes after his belly flop so the redness is better but the poor guy had a red chest for most of the night.

July 16th

It was a hot day today and after an exam at school for me no one felt like cooking so we stopped by our local Italian restaurant to get some yummy dinner!

July 15th

Today we met with friends from Atlanta in Connecticut. We had a great lunch and then went to the local zoo so the kids could play like our days in Atlanta.

July 14th

Yet another test for me on Monday so I was stuck at my desk all day studying. The boys ran errands and went swimming with friends.

July 13th

It was family night at the Beede center (our local gym). They had a fun inflatable pool slide that gave me a workout and Carson a couple of hours of fun!

July 12th

Today in lab we got to look at our own DNA.  It was a really neat process to collect our own cheek cells, then break them open, and replicate them in order to perform electrophoresis to analyze whether we carry some ancient virus at a specific sequence.  I was able to see that I do not carry this ancient virus at least on this specific set of DNA.  

July 11th

Carson started baseball training today!

July 10th

Made a trip to the main Concord library so Carson could find some more books to read and so I could study for my upcoming midterm.

July 9th

Today Carson started a new summer camp that will run through the end of July.  In the morning he is in a class called Budding Biologists where he gets to learn everything about Biology topics.  Today they learned the difference between a white pine and black pine and also got to work in the school garden.  In the afternoon Carson is in a class for mathematics.  Today they worked on subtraction and some basic multiplication.  Overall, Carson learned a lot today!  And this was only the first class!

Took a little canoe trip down the Concord river!

July 7th

Tonight we got to enjoy good food with good friends! Then the kids made some interesting potato head creations-Carson's made us all laugh!

After my class and Carson's gymnastics camp today we went to the pool to cool down and relax.

July 1st

Before we headed home from our camping trip we decided to go on a little canoeing trip around the lake.  Carson decided he wanted to try his hand at paddling and he did really great (my arms got too sore after only a few minutes of paddling!). 

June 30th

We decided to try a camping trip to New Hampshire today. The campground is very nice and it has a nice lake that we spent the afternoon at!
